Emergency safety system for university hospital operating rooms with self-powered emergency bells (Myongji Hospital)

Emergency safety system for university hospital operating rooms with self-powered emergency bells (Myongji Hospital)

Site: Myongji Hospital

Self-powered emergency bells were installed in the operating rooms so that an emergency call reaches the office and control room immediately, without wiring or batteries.

1. Purpose

  • A power-free emergency safety management system using self-powered sensors.
  • The hospital did not have an adequate system for emergencies and safety management.
  • An emergency response measure was needed for the operating room area.
  • An emergency alarm system to the office and control room was needed for emergencies.
  • Adding signal repeaters extends the transmission range of the self-powered sensors.

2. Benefits

  • Emergency and safety prevention system installed at Myongji Hospital: urgent emergency call signals are sent from the operating rooms so staff can check and respond.
  • Extended wireless range: emergency signals are extended through repeaters, giving a detection range of 1 km or more in open field (emergency detection in a wide range of spaces).
  • Can be extended to other hospitals and managed facilities.

3. System configuration

  1. Emergency detection — A wireless emergency signal is sent from inside the operating room
  2. Repeater — Receives the emergency signal and extends the range (150 m)
  3. Single-window Monitor (receiver) — Emergency alarm that shows a unique number for each signal
